Blue Cruise Sailing in Panama
The wildly popular sailing-cruises along the history-laden coast of Turkey can now be experienced in Panama in the tranquil waters of the Gulf de Chiriqui, Islas Secas, Montuosa, Isla Coiba and beyond! The newly "discovered" and (still!) hardly visited island of Coiba makes it a prime choice for the spoiled and seasoned traveller. The BoatBuilt in 2008, in Fethiye-Turkey. Complete overhaul; winter 2011/2012 the wooden schooner measures 25m overall (21M over deck) with a width of 6M. She carries close to 200M2 sail. Her 4 spacious cabins: 2 master, 1 double, 1 twin -each with its own bathroom/shower- accommodate 8 guests. The 3-men crew consists of captain, the: chef and 1 steward. On board you will find: kayaks, tourboat, snorkling-and fishing-gear, swimming-platform, sunbeds etc. etc. Why?Vittoria and Marinus van Keeken, owners of Cala Mia Eco Resort, are experienced sailors and always looking for "the off-road". Having sailed extensively the Eastern Mediterranean, admiring the classical Gulits with their majestic flowing lines, a spark hit home: Why not bring this luxury sailing vacation to the Pacific Ocean, making it more sustainable and eco-friendly, without sacrificing any comfort?
Some adjustments had to be made though:
After a thourough search and several trips from Istanbul to Izmir, Bodrum to Gocek, the double masted Gulit, no doubt the nicest ship in her size, was bought and presently she is on the dry to be prepared for the ocean-crossing. The Trip:Mid May 2012, Vittoria, Marinus and friends start with "Albatros Feliz" from Turkey, heading for Greece, the "heel" of Italy, Sicily, Sardinia, Balearic Islands, to leave her, 2 months later, on the Atlantic coast of Maroc. The next leg, Oct./Nov. 2012, brings them to S.W. Maroc, Mauretanie, . and the Cape Verds Islands from where they cross to N.W. Brazil, -Recife-, to leave the boat at the mouth of the Amazon-river. The last leg, around March/April 2013, visiting the Guyanas and Suriname, Trinidad/Tobago, Venezuela (Islas Los Roques!), Colombia and the San Blas Islands to traverse the Panama-canal and bring her, passing through the Islas Perlas, home: Cala Mia Eco Resort, Isla Boca Brava, Boca Chica!
YOUR Trip:From December 2013 "Albatros Feliz" is available for charter. Prices are all-inclusive: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, soft drinks & alcoholic beverages, parkfees, kayaks, tourboat etc. etc. We only add the tax to your bill! Introduction offer: usd 2.500 per night
